Malekhu (Dhading): A devastating bus accident in Dhading has resulted in the loss of eight lives today. The incident involved a bus (Province 3-01-005 Kha 9952) en route from Kathmandu to Beni in Myagdi district, which veered off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River. The fatalities include a child and two women, as confirmed by local individuals who actively participated in the rescue operation.
As of now, 17 individuals with injuries have been successfully rescued. Among them, 13 have been transported to Kathmandu for medical treatment, while the remaining four are receiving care at the Gajuri Community Hospital, according to Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra. Divers are currently engaged in the search for any missing persons in the aftermath of the accident. The joint rescue efforts comprise personnel from the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local volunteers. The mishap is believed to have occurred while the bus was attempting to overtake.
PM Prachanda expressed deep condolences
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' expressed his deep condolences in response to the tragic Dhading bus accident. The incident, which occurred at Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 in Dhading district, claimed the lives of at least eight individuals and left over a dozen others injured. The bus was en route to Beni in Myagdi district from Kathmandu.
In his message of condolence, PM Dahal extended his heartfelt sympathies to the victims' families and well-wishers. He also conveyed his wishes for the swift recovery of those injured. The Prime Minister issued a directive to the Home administration, security agencies, and local authorities to coordinate comprehensive rescue operations, ensuring effectiveness during this difficult time.
